This guide will walk you through the steps needed to create an account in Microsoft Outlook 2002 (XP) to connect to your email account hosted by Web Solutions.
Go to the Tools menu and select Email Accounts.
Select Add a new e-mail account.
If you are troubleshooting an existing account setup, select View or change existing e-mail accounts from the window shown above. Highlight the profile of the email account hosted by Web Solutions and click the Change button; continue to Step 4.
Select POP3 as the type of server to connect to.
Enter your information. The Incoming/Outgoing servers will both be set to secure.emailsrvr.com. Enter your name and email address as shown, then enter your logon information as well, keeping in mind that your username is your full email address. When finished, click on the More Settings button (shown highlighted below).
Go to the Outgoing Server tab and confirm that you have selected My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and that it uses the same setting as your incoming server, as shown below.
On the Advanced tab, change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 2525 as shown below and then click the OK button.
Please note: If you would like to set up your email account with an encrypted connection please select the "SSL connection" checkbox. Then click "ok". You will then be directed back to the "Change account" page where you will need to update the incoming and outgoing mail server to secure.emailsrvr.com
Click the Next button when you are back on the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window (the same window from Step 3). Then click the Finish button and make sure all other dialog boxes are closed so that you are now looking at your Inbox again.
Congratulations! Your installation of Outlook 2002 should now be properly configured to send and receive email using your account.
