The Gengras Center, located on the University of Saint Joseph campus in West Hartford, Connecticut, is a state-approved, private special education school serving elementary, middle, high school, and transition-age students with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and related behavioral challenges.
The Gengras Center asked Web Solutions to upgrade its website, which was out of date and difficult to navigate. It wanted a fresh design, streamlined content, a more marketing focus, and a modern look. "The purpose of the site is to show off how great the Gengras Center is, let current and prospective parents know what it has to offer, and attract employees," said Becca Liudzius, assistant director of marketing & communications.
Web Solutions designed and built a new WordPress website with reorganized content and an intuitive navigation designed to help different audiences find the information they're looking for. "The site is very easy to use, and the staff at Gengras has no problem making updates as needed," said Liudzius.
In addition to dedicated landing pages for About, Admissions, Educational Programs, Services & Therapies, and Current Parents, Web Solutions created a new page called A Day in the Life of a Gengras Student, which gives prospective parents an overview of what their child would experience at Gengras.
"When prospective parents are researching, coming to a site like this—which looks great, lays out all the information in a clear and attractive manner, and is filled with photos of children thriving—will help them envision their child here," said Liudzius.
"It was great working with Web Solutions on this project," said Liudzius. "They worked well with our schedules, kept us on track, answered questions quickly, and took into account everything we were looking for in the new site. The Gengras Center has been a leader in special education for decades, and the beautiful website now reflects that leadership and innovation."
